Change is in the Air

Well, I am officially entering my first blog post. I have recently moved in with my
boyfriend which is maaaajor for me and we are lucky enough to live right around the corner from a Nunnery, yup it's a true story. I decided to name this blog after my favourite part of this new neighborhood, the GIANT Golden Jesus hanging from a life sized cross. I saw that and I thought yup, this is my kinda place. He is not only a life like representation of Jesus, but a super shiny gold one that is almost blinding in the sunshine. (pictures will be coming on a sunny day)


So in this moment I am embarking on a major shift in my life. I work full time at a Corporation which I am lucky enough to say I have a great Boss and my job is pretty challenging. In my spare time I work diligently on my dream which is to have my own Vintage Clothing store. I am lucky enough to have a really supportive boyfriend who helps me out and keeps me motivated when sales are slow.

The reality is that on a scale of people who have vintage stores online or otherwise I am small potatoes. I worked at a consignment store for a few years and it was during that time I realized I had a real talent for knowing what is cool clothing wise. I know this sounds a little egotistical but its true. I call t his phenomenon "my eye". I used this talent of mine to make a lot of people a lot of money. During this experience of what I call being a major sucker I realized that I can love clothing but not be in that environment. After a year and a half of avoiding doing what I really want because of some nasty bitches at my old place of employment I realized something major.

First of all, why do I care what other people think? Secondly if I sucked so much at my last job then why did I personally help make huge sales that are now not happening at my old job? I think it is very easy to let other people rule how you feel about yourself and it can be hard to let it go. As my new boss would say, "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff". As cheezy as that might sound it is very true.

So tomorrow I am getting my first Mannequin and am super excited. I have tonnes of items to list and am finally happy to be taking this major step.
